Community Services

November 3rd, 2009

There are some seniors out there who need community service hours in order to graduate and they don’t want to waste their times joining clubs. If you are one of those seniors, you should hurry up and do something before it’s too late. Well, I found a pretty nice website that can help you. http://www.volunteermatch.org All you need to do is sign up and they will send you daily events that are going happen. Or… You can click on search, type in your City and maybe a keyword of what you would like to volunteer for.

I hope you have fun volunteering!

Halloween

November 3rd, 2009

DSC_0674Last Friday, YB Warriors celebrated Halloween by getting dressed up in costumes that range from cute to scary. The amphitheater was also decorated with numerous carved pumpkins. During lunch, six contestants from each class played “Dunking for Body Parts”. After the game, a costume contest was held. The famous couple from grease, Danny and Sandy came in 1st for cutest couple. The crowd voted the penguin for best costume; whereas, the judges vote the sexy lady for the best costume. Overall, it was a wonderful Halloween event. Good job to all participants of both the “Dunking for Body Parts” and the costume contest. Great job warriors! Hope you had a Happy Halloween!

WARRIORS SPIRIT WEEK!

October 18th, 2009

What a CRAZY WEEK! Yeah, that’s right! SPIRIT WEEK! New skits, new ideas… It’s been pretty FUN this week (tiring yes, but it did pay off). The classes did a great job on their days! Starting with the sophomore’s KIM POSSIBLE, the freshmen’s WARRIORS GOT TALENT, the junior’s EGYPTIAN THEME, and finally the senior’s THRILLER(MJ)!!!!

Let’s start off with the Sophomores. Their theme was a parody of KIM POSSIBLE! At brunch, they began their skit with Kim (Marisol) and Ron (Andrew) getting ready for Homecoming. However, Drakken (Andy) talked about how he planned to destroy Kim Possible, so he ruined the homecoming game by kidnapping a football player (instead of Ron). At lunch, Kim and Ron saved the day. Then Ron asked Kim out and she rejected him! Just KIDDING! She said YES and yeah… it ended with happily ever after O.o The skit was nice. Nice cheering sophomores, but there were only limited sophomores. But! Next time, we would like to see more of you guys up there.

The freshieeees did WARRIORS GOT TALENT!!! Which was really interesting because they actually sang (not lipsync)! They did pretty good on a rainy day (in the theater). At lunch, the emceees introduced three freshmen who were dressed up as the judges from Americans Got Talent: Sharon, Paula, and Simon. Everytime a group finished singing or dancing, the judges would give them three TENS, as a sign of “they’re (2013) perfect.” They even had Simon to compliment them! EL OH EL! It was pretty good for a beginner! Let’s give the freshmen a round of applause! Congratz!

The Juniors’ theme was EGYPT! At first, from my opinion, I thought it was going to be boring, BUT it was AMAZING! Their DANCES were great (synchronized, too). It was funny, too! The father (Kenneth) passed his throne onto his youngest son (Aaron). Unfortunately, his older son (Tony) got jealous and overthrew Aaron. The middle son was Carlos who got kicked out by Tony because he was an idiot. =.= Then Cleopatra (Joie) persuaded Aaron to kick his older brother off the throne because the guy was a tyrant (sorry, I don’t know a better word for it). Joie confessed her love to Aaron. Aaron battled Tony ONE ON ONE, killed him… and became the emperor! Good job, JUNIORS!

It’s the seniors’ last year and they tried everything to make it AWESOME! They made a tribute to Micheal Jackson. xD The seniors made an entrance with a car driven by [Haggerty or Perez with Brytha/Cynthia as a passenger]. The seniors filled up the stairs so people got [SQUISHED]. It was sooooooo crowded, heheh. The skit began with Christopher Te, his date Charlotte, and Cynthia (as Micheal Jackson). They arrived at Billie Jean’s (Daniel Z) house, who was MJ’s date. Christopher and Charlotte went ahead to the homecoming dance, while Billie Jean and MJ were stuck between a dilemma on which road to take. MJ thought the shorter road was better, so he chose the short road. What they didn’t know was that this road was going to change their life. MJ ran over 2 squirrels and a person (Karina). The person turned out to be a ZOMBIE!!! x__X It chased after MJ and Billie Jean and turned MJ into a zombie. They brought a whole gang with them to get Billie Jean. MJ asked Billie Jean to be ugly with him and to be his queen but she refused to. She only wanted to be a beautiful homecoming queen. At the end, she changed her mind and wanted to stay with MJ! xD Happily EVER AFTER! LAWL!

All of the SKITS were wonderful! The posters were AMAZING! Waking up at 5 a.m. is worth it, right? xD I think it was! Each classes took at least a month and a half to finish up… AND we should congrat THEM! xD Good JOB YOU GUYS!
